Portugal's Scolari names experienced squad

[EURO '08 COUNTDOWN] Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari named 11 players from his Euro '04 runner-up team to the squad he will take to the European Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland next month.

The surprise omission was Inter Milan's Maniche, who played in the Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006 finals and was a regular starter in Euro '08 qualifying.

"The expectations are the same as in 2004," Scolari said. "We have great quality to clinch the qualification in the first phase. I have total belief in this squad."

Training camp opened Monday in Viseu.
