U.S. midfielder Michael Bradley was set for a transfer from Heerenveen to English side Birmingham City until the team were relegated from the Premier League last week. The newspaper reports that
Bradley, along with Swiss international Valon Behrami, were "all set to" join Birmingham, but only if the team maintained its top-flight status.
Bradley would have brought "quality,
speed and excitement" to the team, the paper reports. Birmingham had persuaded him to join instead of making the much-rumored move to Everton because he would be better able to command a regular
place in the starting lineup. It also says he is "strongly fancied in Germany by Stuttgart and Werder Bremen."
