The Houston Dynamo's trip to Washington wasn't a complete loss. A day after its game against D.C. United was washed out, the Dynamo players and staff visited the White House. For the second year in
a row, President George Bush honored the Dynamo as MLS champion.
"It is the coolest honor I can think of to be honored by the President of the free world," defender Craig Waibel said. "I
love the United States, obviously, and I am a big patriot and a proud American. I never thought I would get the honor to meet the President on his grounds, and to now go there twice in two years
is just amazing. It is awfully generous of him to have us back."
The Dynamo was taken on a tour of the White House, took part in a ceremony with President Bush in the Rose Garden and then
had individual pictures taken with him in the Oval Office.
