Former Polish International, 34, Found Dead

From the farcical to the tragic. Former Polish international Adam Ledwon, aged 34, was found dead Wednesday at his home in the southern Austrian city of Klagenfurt, one of the Euro 2008 venues.

Ledwon was capped 18 times by his country and was under contract with Nate Jaqua's last team, Austria Kaernten. "We are shocked," Kaernten's manager Michael Heiden said. "A suicide note was found but not translated yet. We await the inquiries."

Ledwon's body was reportedly found by club teammate Patrick Wolf, who went to the defender's house after he unexpectedly missed a friendly game Wednesday. Ledwon had also been working as a commentator for Polish TV during the European Championship. During his career, he played for Bayer Leverkusen, Fortune Cologne, Austria Vienna and Sturm Graz.
