A much younger U.S. prospect up front is Real Salt Lake's Robbie Findley who, following a moribund start to the current season, is finding the form that earned him a national team call-up last year.
Ever since being substituted into the game against San Jose two weeks ago by Coach Jason Kreis, Findley has been "tremendous ...a nd shown a renewed zest for punishing opponents with his speed,"
writes Michael Lewis.
"It was always just a matter of time until he really found his rhythm and his flow and his confidence, which I think he had a whole lot of in the preseason,"
Kreis said. "We're glad that he's got that back." After scoring in the San Jose game, Findley netted the game-winner at Chivas USA last weekend, helping the Utah side towards a three-game winning
Findley's not sure why he lost his confidence. "I don't know if I was just mentally tired, or what it was," he said. "It happens to everybody, you get into little lulls and
stuff like that. But it's how you come back from them. You have to keep working hard and keep doing the things that you need to do to get better, and eventually, it will work out for you."
