LDU Quito downed Mexico's Club America in the semifinals on the away-goal tiebreaker and Argentina's San Lorenzo in the quarterfinals on penalty kicks. All four games in those series ended in ties.
LDU Quito and Fluminense met in group play. They tied 0-0 in Quito and the Brazilians won, 1-0, at home.
Fluminense is led by Thiago Neves, the lefty who inspired Flu in its win over Boca. Dodo, who has been productive off the bench, is likely to start because striker Washington is hobbled with a leg injury.
Quito's star is 23-year-old right winger Joffre Guerron, who is headed to Spain's Getafe, and 37-year-old goalkeeper Jose Cevallos, who was with Ecuador's Barcelona when it finished runner-up twice in the Copa Libertadores.
