Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor
appears to have more than one foot in Italy, as his agent, Vincenzo Morabito
, has claimed that his
proposed move to AC Milan is "70-80 percent done."
Milan has made no secret of its desire for the Togolese big man. Club vice president Adriano Galliani
says the 24-year-old is
the Rossoneri's No. 1 transfer target: "If [Adebayor] doesn't come then nobody will come."
Morabito claims the deal will go through once Arsenal finds a suitable replacement.
The names being talked about are Peter Crouch
, Blackburn Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz
and Germany forward Mario Gomez
. Arsenal is adamant that it will not sell Adebayor
for less than $46 million.
If Adebayor makes the move to Italy, he will become the second Arsenal player to do so this summer. Midfielder Mathieu Flamini
completed a switch in the
beginning of May, when his Arsenal contract ran out.
Adebayor led Arsenal in scoring last season with 30 goals in all competitions.
