The Spaniards led the Euro 2008, whose goals per game average was 2.84, in scoring with 12 goals in its six games. David Villa

Spain led the tournament in

After the loss to Spain, German captain Michael Ballack
has 10 runner-up finishes in his career,

which Ballack was suspended because of accumulated yellow cards. Also in 2002, he finished second with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League.
