1. NCAA awards Pizza Hut Park the 2008 men's finals

Pizza Hut Park will become the third MLS soccer-specific stadium to host the NCAA Division I men's championship.

The NCAA has approved SMU -- the only NCAA Division I men's program in Texas -- as the host of the 2008 Men's College Cup in partnership with FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Dec. 12 and 14, 2008.

"As the only Division I athletic program in Dallas, we feel a responsibility to our fans and all the residents of the Metroplex to host events such as these," said SMU athletic director Steve Orsini. "SMU already offers tremendous collegiate athletic events, and this will only add to what we already provide on the Hilltop."

The 2001 and 2003 D1 final fours were played at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The 2004 Men's College Cup was played at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The 2007 Men's College Cup will be played at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
