Revs' staff members subdue crazed airline passenger

Three staff members of the New England, on an American Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles, helped subdue a passenger who had stripped, put his clothes back on and then tried to open an emergency exit door.

The American Airlines flight 725 was diverted to Oklahoma City after the passenger had tie wraps placed on him. He was taken off the flight and placed under mental evaluation.

Revs general manager Craig Tornberg confronted the passenger who came naked out of one of the plane's restrooms and told him to put his clothes back on. The passenger's returned to the restroom and put his clothes back on but headed for the emergency door when he got out.

Tornberg, assistant coach Gwynne Williams and Michael Burns, New England's vice president for player personnel, forced the passenger into a seat as a flight attendant ran to get the restraints.

The Revs were headed to Los Angeles for their SuperLiga game against Chivas USA.
