Manchester United chief executive David Gill says there wasn't much discussion about selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. He said that a "short, quick conversation" with the Glazer family who
own the EPL club took place at the UEFA Champions League final in May.
The turning point came when Manager Sir Alex Ferguson met Ronaldo in Portugal after Euro '08. As for the future,
Gill says United it taking it one year at a time.
"You cannot say what will definitely happen in a year's time," said Gill. "But by then he will still have three years left on his
contract. Let's not worry too much about it. [Cristiano Ronaldo] is at the best club and Alex is very comfortable about it. We may give him another contract next summer, you never know. I have not,
however, had detailed discussions with his advisers."
