Dallas finds winning way, big time

SCHELLAS HYNDMAN, who took the FC Dallas helm last month, got his first MLS win with a 4-0 thumping of Los Angeles. Hyndman, who had coached SMU since 1984, lost three and tied one in his first MLS games before the home win over the Galaxy.

11. FC Dallas striker Kenny Copper, who is reportedly entertaining offers from European clubs, scored in the 15th and 17th minutes in the win over Los Angeles. Cooper, who also hit the crossbar, is now second in MLS scoring this season with 11 goals, one behind Los Angeles' Landon Donovan. Cooper, 23, scored 11 goals in his first MLS season, in 2006. He was limited to 14 games last season because of injury and notched four goals. Cooper also assisted on Dominic Oduro's goal to make it 3-0. Abe Thompson scored FC Dallas' fourth. VIDEO

ERIC DENTON of the San Jose Earthquakes headed the ball into his own team's goal from 16 yards to give New York a one-goal lead in the battle of last-place teams from the West and the East. San Jose escaped with a tie on home turf thanks to the first MLS goal by Englishman Darren Huckerby, who was making his second appearance for the Quakes. VIDEO

7. Chicago keeper Jon Busch notched his seventh shutout of the season in Kansas City where a scoreless tie extended the Fire's unbeaten streak to five games (four ties, one win).

STEVEN LENHART, who got his first start for the Columbus Crew after scoring twice off the bench, scored in the 21st minute against Colorado - then was red-carded in the in the 42nd minute for throwing an elbow. Jason Garey scored in 75th minute to give the Crew a 2-0 win at Colorado. VIDEO
