American striker Kenny Cooper appears to be one step closer to returning to English soccer with the report that second-level Cardiff City
has agreed a fee of around $4 million with MLS.
Cooper, who back his pro career in the Manchester United system, scored twice for FC Dallas in its 4-0 win over Los Angeles on Sunday to give him 11 goals in 18 games this season.
FCD coach Schellas Hyndman remained hopeful of keeping Cooper. "I think his heart is in Dallas," he said. "He would love to play here. We're trying to do everything we can to make sure he stays with
this club. Kenny is very important for this team, He is definitely someone we want to keep."
