U.S. U-20s split at Milk Cup

[YOUTH] The U.S. under-20 national team got two goals from FC Dallas rookie Brek Shea and a goal apiece from the University of Michigan's Peri Marosevic and UNLV's Danny Cruz in a 4-0 win over Wales Wednesday to earn a split in its first two games at Northern Ireland's Milk Cup, one of the world's most prestigious summer youth tournaments.

Thomas Rongen's Americans had fallen to Northern Ireland, 4-1, on Monday. They close out play with a placement game on Friday.

In the U-17 Premier Section, California's South Coast Bayern created a sensation with a 4-1 win over Fluminense of Brazil to advance to the semifinals against Hearts of Scotland.

South Coast Bayern had beaten County Fermanagh, 3-0, on Monday and then edged Ipswich Town of England, 3-2, the next day.

Other semifinalists are Manchester United and Watford of England.
