Well-known Arizona club Sereno's officials suspended in forgery case

Two former members of the Phoenix area's Sereno Soccer Club were suspended by the Arizona Youth Soccer Association following its investigation into what it concluded was the forgery of a player form that resulted in Sereno being kicked out of this year's McGuire Cup finals.

The AYSA suspended former Sereno director of coaching Les Armstrong for five months and former Sereno office manager LeeAnn Allin for about a year  for the forgery of the signature of former player Kieran Clancy.

Armstrong, who helped build Sereno into a national powerhouse, and Allin both resigned after the incident came to light after the Region IV championships, at which Sereno won the U-19 title.

Sereno was not sanctioned.
