It took six games, but the San Diego Surf finally got a win at the 2008 Nike Manchester United Premier Cup in England.
The Surf beat Shizuoka Gakuen of Japan, 2-0, to finish 19th out of
20 teams in the tournament. It had qualified for the finals when it beat South Carolina rival Pateadores, 1-0, in the U.S. finals in Beaverton, Ore., in May.
