The New York Red Bulls played reigning MLS champion Houston on Sunday "like a team on a mission," writes Angela Daidone, and the Dynamo "could do nothing to stop them" as they powered to a 3-0 win. A new confidence on the team was evident from the players she spoke to after its third successive win.

"I think today was the most solid performance we've had so far since I've been here," said striker Juan Pablo Angel, who scored a lovely header for the side's opening goal. "Basically, we got the job done in a very good manner. We were solid in every line." It wasn't fancy soccer, he said, but "it was just very effective...against arguably the best team in the league with probably the strongest team that they could play."

Fellow forward Dane Richards, who scored the team's second goal, added: "Our confidence is really high and coach [Juan Carlos Osorio] is really confident in us. That helps a lot when the coach is confident in us so we're going out there, getting the job done like he told us to do and we're just winning." Osorio himself was "extremely pleased and proud of the effort today by the whole team," reiterating that "our main goal" is to reach the playoffs.
