MORNING BRIEFING: Men's powers take beatings

Two days after playing to a 0-0 tie, No. 3 Indiana and No. 5 South Florida both took it on a chin.

Notre Dame crushed South Florida, 5-0, putting four goals past the Bulls in an 11-minute span in the first half of the final game at the Hilton Garden Inn Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament.

The host Irish used five different goal scorers to post the victory: Justin Morrow, Bright Dike, Josh Thiermann, Michael Thomas and Jeb Brovsky.

Earlier in the day, unranked Dartmouth hammered Indiana with a 4-0 victory.

New Zealand Olympian Craig Henderson scored twice between goals by freshmen Lucky Mkosana and Maarten van Ess.

"This was a great victory for our team," said Dartmouth coach Jeff Cook. "We played well all weekend and it was nice to have that reward. This game gives us a lot of belief as we look forward and hope to improve."

The game marked the third in a row Indiana failed to score.
