ACC power Virginia confirmed the signing of what is one of the top men's recruiting classes for 2007.
Coach
George Gelnovatch has brought in
four players with experience on the U.S. U-18 national team:
T.J. Cyrus (Virginia Rush),
Colin Given (VardarStars,
Mich.),
Danny Louisignau (Baltimore Bays out of Wilmington, Del.) and
Jimmy Simpson (PWSI Courage, Va.).
Gelnovatch is high on his fifth recruit, Korean-born midfielder
Jason Kim (Irvine, Calif.), who has played for the Region IV team but not the USA because he
is not a U.S. citizen.
"Jason not being on a national team might put him a little under everyone's radar, but there are a lot of hard-core soccer aficionados who think he is one of the
top prospects in the country," Gelnovatch said. "He is very athletic and possess great skills. We think he could be something really special."
