Californian Ledezma heads to Mexico

U.S. under-18 national team forward Mario Ledezma has moved to Mexico, where he has joined Chivas Guadalajara's youth program.

Ledezma, who represented the USA at the Limoges Tournament in France last fall, played on Chivas USA's under-18 academy team.

Ledezma also played for Woodland Hills El Camino Real  High School in last winter's Los Angeles City section playoffs. He asked not to be named in newspaper accounts of the playoffs because he wasn't supposed to be playing prep soccer.

The advent of U.S. Soccer Development Academy created a tug of war between area high schools and clubs for top players.
