Two more changes to U.S. roster

[TRINIDAD & TOBAGO-USA] After releasing nine players and adding four others to face Trinidad & Tobago in the next U.S. qualifier, Coach Bob Bradley has tweaked the squad yet again.

Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado) and Robbie Rogers (Columbus) suffered injuries playing for their MLS clubs last weekend. Mastroeni incurred a knee injury and Rogers is hobbled with a sore back. Replacing them are Crew midfielder Brian Carroll and Chicago striker Chris Rolfe, who have 14 caps between them.

Carroll, 27, last played for the U.S. against Ecuador in a 3-1 win March 25, 2007 to earn his sixth cap. He debuted for the U.S. four years ago to the day of this callup, on Oct. 13, 2004, in a 6-0 trampling of Panama in his then-home stadium at the time, RFK in Washington, D.C. Carroll played four seasons for D.C. United before moving to Columbus, via San Jose and the expansion draft, during the offseason.

Rolfe, 25, has played eight times for the national team and has made two appearances this season, most recently on June 22 in the USA's 1-0 win in Bridgetown, Barbados. He played three games in 2006 and earned an assist on a goal by Eddie Johnson in a 4-0 rout of Guatemala at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

By beating Cuba, 6-1, last weekend the Americans have clinched the top spot in Group A and a place in next year's Hexagonal final round. Trinidad & Tobago (1-1-20 is tied with Guatemala for second place, and only the top two teams advance.

The U.S. plays Trinidad & Tobago at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN, Galavision) on Wednesday at Halsey Crawford Stadium. The team will train in the stadium on Tuesday, with Rolfe expected to arrive that afternoon to round out the squad.
