6. MLS: Revs rookie displays scoring touch

Revs rookie forward Adam Cristman, a fourth-round draft pick out of the University of Virginia, is proving to be the scoring terror of MLS Preseason 2007.
The 22-year-old played a role in all three New England Revolution goals as it downed Honduran club CD Olimpia, 3-1, Sunday at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans.
Cristman, a member of the U.S. under-23 team that toured Japan earlier this month, scored his third and fourth goals in three games and assisted on Andy Dorman's goal as well as New England upped its preseason record to 5-0-0 in 2007 preseason exhibition matches.
Cristman scored two goals against Japanese club Rosso Kumamoto during the under-23s tour.
The Revs used most of their available starters for the match, which was the first pro game staged at the stadium since Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans and the surrounding areas.
New England was missing Taylor Twellman (U.S. national team), Tony Lochhead (New Zealand) and Amaechi Igwe (U.S. under-20s).
CD Olimpia lost to Houston, 3-2, on aggregate in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup last month. It trailed New England, 3-0, before Jose Pacini scored in the 54th minute against Revs' keeper Brad Knighton, who got the start because Matt Reis was suffering from flu and backup Doug Warren is rehabilitating a hip injury. Also missing was Michael Parkhurst, who is recovering from a dislocated shoulder.
The Revs conclude their preseason schedule Wednesday against the USL New Orleans Shell Shockers.
