Italy beat Russia, 2-1, to take third-place in the Rio de Janeiro-hosted tournament. The USA was eliminated in the first round, losing all four games and getting outscored, 5-24.

Brazil had opened the scoring when Marquinho's 27th-minute corner kick deflected off the face of Spain's Borja and into the net. Torras equalized two minutes later with a left-foot drive. Vinicius put Brazil back on top by slamming home a rebound from keeper Amado, who had blocked two close-range shots. Alvaro made it 2-2 with a minute left by poking in from a foot out. Brazil won the PKs, 4-3.
