MORNING BRIEFING: Tulsa wins eighth in a row

No. 10 Tulsa, a 4-0 winner over Oral Roberts for its eighth straight win, was the only Soccer America Men's Top 25 team in action on Monday night.

The game was effectively decided in the 26th minute when sophomore Chris Taylor converted his third penalty kick of the season after ORU's Taylor Cluff received a red card.

The last three goals came in the last 20 minutes. Austin Neil scored his team-high seventh goal of the season, while Ashley McInnes and Benjamin Pettit scored their first goals of the season.

"We started out pressuring early on and created a couple of near chances, but lost our concentration around the 15 minute mark," Coach Tom McIntosh said. "The red card and subsequent penalty kick and goal changed the complexion of the game. You have to give a lot of credit to ORU. They played very well. They were patient and well disciplined. We are learning to score through combinations, and it was great to see two guys get their first goals, but we have to get better. We haven't reached our potential and we have to go out and get ready for every game."
