1. JC women's coach charged on sex charges


Komi Afeto, the women's coach at NJCAA school Suffolk (N.Y.) Community College women's soccer coach, was arrested Wednesday and arraigned on Thursday for having what police called "a sexual relationship" with a 15-year-old girl, according to newsday.com.

Afeto, a native of Togo who played at Dowling, was charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual act, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He is in jail in lieu of a $100,000 bail or $200,000 bond.

According to police, Afeto, an active youth coach on Long Island, knew the girl from youth soccer events.
