A squad of young American players, all members of the Generation adidas program, are headed to England next week for eight days of training and matches.San Jose
Earthquakes coach Frank Yallop
is in charge of the 16-player roster, which will face the reserve teams of West Ham, Chelsea and Aston Villa and also attend Premier League and Champions'
League matches during the stay.
They visit officially begins Dec. 6. The players, coaches and staff will be based at the Chelsea Academy until departure on Dec. 14. They will watch
Arsenal play Wigan at the Emirates Stadium in an EPL game and will attend two Chelsea home games at Stamford Bridge: a Champions' League match against Romanian club CRF Cluj Napoca as well as a
league match with West Ham United.
FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake will each send four players, New England and Toronto FC will send two apiece, and Kansas City, Chicago and Colorado will
each send one player. A 16th player has yet to be announced.
Yallop will be accompanied by his Quakes assistant coach, Ian Russell
, and his stay in London will include a visit to
the offices of Tottenham Hotspur, which has formed a partnership with San Jose.
Besides the benefits of training and playing matches, the tour will showcase some of the league's top
