OBITUARY: Youth soccer pioneer Frank Wall

Frank Hall, a member of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association's Hall of Fame, died recently at the age of 73 after a battle with cancer.

The English-born Hall was considered responsible for organizing youth soccer in Tacoma in the early 1960s and taking teams to nearby Oregon and as far away as England. He played a major role in organization of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association in 1966.

A celebration of his life will take place Dec. 16 at Columbia Hall, 6794 Martin Way in Lacey, Wash., beginning at 1 p.m.
