Platini: Euro 2012 Could Be Poland's Alone

UEFA President Michel Platini has said that the 2012 European Championship, to be hosted jointly by Poland and the Ukraine, could take place solely in Poland if the stadium in the Ukrainian capital Kiev is not finished on time, according to Polish newspaper Dziennik.

However, Platini is cool on a previously aired idea that Poland could co-host with Germany instead. "Only if the diggers are still working on the Warsaw stadium in June 2102," he said. "But I really can't see that happening."

Platini also told the French sports daily L'Equipe that "we still have plenty of time to react" should preparations not go according to schedule. "There's no Plan B," he said, "but numerous possibilities to do other things and implement various other ideas."
