[U.S. UNDER-20 NATIONAL TEAM] A pair of Italian-based players,
Vincenzo Bernardo of Napoli and
Giuseppe Nazzani of Bologna, were among the five foreign-based players called into the U.S. under-20 national team training camp that began Monday in Sunrise, Fla.
Bernardo starred at St. Benedict's Prep in New Jersey before joining Napoli. Nazzani was born to an American mother and Italian father and has been in the Bologna system since he was
11.
Other European-based players whom Coach Thomas Rongen called into the camp that ends Monday are three Floridians
Bryan Arguez,
Gabriel Hoyos and
Matt Luzanaris.
Arguez and Hoyos are in Germany at Hertha Berlin and Freiburg, respectively,
while Luzanaris, who played one season at UCF, is at Austria's FC Magna Wiener Neustadt.
