Leeds United has appointed
Simon Grayson as its new manager following the firing of
Gary McAllister. Grayson comes to the team from Championship (second tier) club
Blackpool, whom he led to promotion last season. Leeds was a Champions League semifinalist as recently as 2001, but is now mid-table in League One (third tier) and has been knocked out of the FA Cup
by non-league Histon.
