A player at English non-league side Chippenham Town seems to have set a new world record for receiving the fastest ever red card after he was dismissed three seconds into a game.
Striker David Pratt
, 21, lunged at midfielder Chris Knowles
of opponent Bashley straight from the kickoff and received
a straight red from referee Justin Amey
. His team went on to lose the Southern Premier Division game 2-1.
Chippenham secretary George McCaffrey
admitted: "You normally won't meet a milder man, but David lost it." Lost it, within three seconds of kickoff? How did he even have time to find
it? Bashley manager Steve Riley
said, "The lad's gone in with his studs showing and went straight through my player. It was a potential leg-breaker. The ref
had no choice."
