Although Manchester United picked up a valuable away goal Roma won its last road
game in the competition 2-0 at Lyon. But United has lost just once at home in its last 31 Champions League games.
"We have given ourselves the best advantage in that we have scored the away goal and if we win 1-0 we are through," Man U boss Alex Ferguson said. "But Roma's 2-0 win in Lyon was special. .... We know what they are capable of."
Premier League leader Man U is is aiming to repeat its 1999 triple, when it won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.
Roma rested stars Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Rodrigo Taddei, Amantino Mancini and Cristian Chivu in league play last weekend while Manchester United comes off a 2-1 loss to Portsmouth.
