AC Milan is ready to buy midfielder
David Beckham if he can get out of his contract with the L.A. Galaxy, Milan CEO
Adriano
Galliani said Tuesday.
"If the player were free, we'd buy him," Galliani said. Beckham, he added, "would be overjoyed as well, because he's back playing with a great club." Milan,
Galliani went on, would speak soon to Beckham's advisers, who would then "talk to the Galaxy if they decide to."
The player's people "know Milan is willing to buy Beckham for good,
but it's up to the Galaxy to decide whether to release him." Beckham signed a five-year deal with L.A. in 2007, but he has a get-out clause that kicks in this coming October.
