[ITALY/VIDEO] For the second straight game,
David
Beckham scored for AC Milan, but he had to leave the game with a groin injury that threatened to complicate possible talks of a transfer from the Los Angeles Galaxy to the Rossoneri -- or at
least put a damper on his hopes for a recall for England's next international match.
With England coach
Fabio Capello in attendance, Beckham
beat Genoa's
Fernando Rubinho on a curling free kick in the 33rd minute after having come close in the first minute.
A Beckham appearance
against Spain on Feb. 11 would tie him for second place on the England caps list with the late
Bobby Moore (108) behind
Peter
Shilton (125).
Beckham came off in the 71st minute, and Argentine
Diego Milito scored with three minutes remaining to earn Genoa a 1-1
tie.
The result left Milan two points behind second-place Juventus, a 2-1 loser at Udinese, and eight points behind leader Inter Milan, which beat Catania, 2-0, despite finishing with
10 men.
