2. MLS: Galaxy falls to FC Dallas at home

What must David Beckham be thinking?

The Los Angeles Galaxy, the English star's future club, has opened with a 0-0 tie on the road and a 2-1 loss at home.

Carlos Ruiz (on the first Dallas penalty kick since the 2005 season) and Kenny Cooper scored first-half goals -- the second goals in two games for both players -- and FC Dallas held on to beat the Galaxy for its first win at the Home Depot Center after nine straight losses. The Galaxy had a 15-8 edge in shots but couldn't beat goalie Shaka Hislop until Robbie Findley's goal in the 86th minute.

FCD received bad news, though, when Brazilian midfielder Marcelo Saragosa went down with a knee injury and had to be replaced by Aaron Pitchkolan.

The game drew a Thursday night crowd of 23,596 -- the largest attendance of the MLS season.
