Lawyers representing the L.A. Galaxy's wide midfielder David Beckham
, 33, currently on loan to AC Milan, are talking with the Californian team about a
possible extension to his loan period, the Italian club said on Wednesday.
"His lawyers are in talks with [the] Los Angeles Galaxy," Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani
said on the team's website. "But there is no negotiation at the moment." Galliani has said he wants Beckham to stay at Milan after his loan spell ends March 9. His
loan is technically until June, but there is a written agreement that he will return to L.A. in March. Milan has not yet made an offer for the player, Galliani said.
"To enter a
negotiation and eventually close a deal we have time until March 8," he said. Beckham has scored twice in five Serie A starts for Milan, and set up two goals in a 3-0 weekend win at Lazio. He has
also been included on the team's UEFA Cup roster.
