Southeast Regional League to begin in May

U.S. Club Soccer announced plans for a second regional league to kick off in May. The Southeast Regional League (U-13, U-15 and U-17 boys and girls) will be split into two divisions.

North Division -- Annandale/McLean United (Va.), Beach FC (Va.), Bethesda SC (Md.), CASL Elite (N.C.), Northern Virginia Royals.

South Division -- Atlanta Soccer Academy, Birmingham United (Ala.), Charlotte United (N.C.), Cobb FC (Ga.), Georgia-South Carolina Bulls.

Teams will play an eight-game season during the summer months, and champions will be determined based on cumulative points at the end of the regular season.

The Northeast Pre-Academy League will also launch in 2009.
