Confidence From BeNeLux World Cup Bid

Although faced with perhaps the worst worldwide economic environment since World War II, BeNeLux World Cup Bid Director Alain Courtois stated on Tuesday that he's confident there will be enough private funds to build the 12 new stadiums necessary to host either the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The so-called BeNeLux bid, which would have World Cup matches hosted in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, is among 11 different candidates to stage either of soccer's next two marquee competitions along with Australia, England, Indonesia, Mexico, Japan, Qatar, Russia, South Korea, Spain/Portugal, and the United States.
