Spector and Zizzo see action

ENGLAND. Jonathan Spector, the 23-year-old right back whose only previous appearance this season came in December, played 85 minutes for West Ham in its 2-1 loss to Bolton. Spector, who joined Manchester United in 2003, has been plagued by injuries after making 26 appearances last season.
Brad Friedel made five saves for Aston Villa as it fell, 1-0, to Chelsea. Fellow keeper Tim Howard had a quiet day for Everton during its scoreless tie with Newcastle. Clint Dempsey went the full 90 in Fulham's 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
GERMANY. Sal Zizzo, the 21-year-old Californian, saw his first action for Hannover 96 since November and in his third appearance of the year came on in the 62nd minute of a 3-2 loss to Borussia Moenchengladbach. Right back Steve Cherundolo, recovering from a hip injury, played the final four minutes for Hannover. Michael Bradley played the whole game for Gladbach, which won its first game since November and is now on a three-game unbeaten streak. Last-place Gladbach is now just three points inside the relegation zone.
Landon Donovan played the entire second half as Bayern Munich was upset, 2-1, in front of 69,000 home fans, by FC Cologne.
FRANCE. Carlos Bocanegra kept his streak alive of starting every Rennes game this season in a 1-0 win over Nice. Freddy Adu didn't suit up for Monaco's 2-1 loss to Lille.
BELGIUM. Oguchi Onyewu played 90 minutes for defending champ Standard Liege as fell 4-2 win to Anderlecht.
SCOTLAND. After seeing Scottish FA Cup action in the midweek, DaMarcus Beasley and Maurice Edu sat out Glasgow Rangers' 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.
SPAIN. Xerez beat Cordoba, 2-1, in the second division without giving Jozy Altidore his first action since joining on loan from Villarreal in January.
AUSTRIA. Preston Zimmerman scored for Kapfenberg SV in a 2-1 over FC Karnten.
MEXICO. Jose Francisco Torres played the first 55 minutes in Pachuca's 3-0 win over Indios.
