Ukrainian striker Andrei Voronin
, a bust at Liverpool, has rediscovered his form since returning on loan to the
Bundesliga. He upped his total to 10 goals this season with a hat trick in leader Hertha Berlin's 3-1 victory at Energie Cottbus that moved it four points ahead of Bayern Munich, Hamburg,
Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg, all tied for second place.
Voronin, which had previously played at four clubs beginning with Borussia Moenchengladbach as a 16-year-old in 1995, has now
scored seven goals in his last five games.
Playing without French star Franck Ribery
, Bayern Munich got a much-needed 5-1 win over Hannover,
while Wolfsburg edged Karlsruhe, 1-0.
Hamburg, which was in first place two weeks ago, suffered its second successive loss when it fell, 4-1, at Borussia Moenchengladbach, which moved
out the basement with the victory.
Hoffenheim had to settle for a goalless draw at home to Werder Bremen.
