Since moving to Spanish Second Division Xerex from La Liga-living Villarreal in January, it's been a case of "different team, same story" for 19-year-old U.S. striker Jozy Altidore. Which is to say, lots of talk of potential, but not a lot of minutes on the field. None, to be exact.

Which is why he and fellow Second Division team Levante are hoping a transfer to Levante (his second within the current 2008-09 season) gets approved by LPF officials. Altidore is looking for playing time to prove his worth (and prove to Villarreal that he's worth his $10 million transfer fee), and Levante is looking to replace  injured striker Alex Geijo, its leading scorer.

As Goal.com's reports, "the argument goes that because he has not yet represented Xerez, he should be allowed to move even outside the transfer window." A decision that would allow Altidore the chance to finish the season with Levante is expected by the end of the week.
