The MLS moves into full swing with six games on tap for the weekend. We like the Galaxy to beat D.C. United in a goalfest -- neither defense
looks ready -- and Houston and Columbus to play to a stalemate in a battle of the last two MLS champions. SATURDAY Houston vs. Columbus (8 p.m. ET, FSC).
In what could be an MLS Cup 2009 preview, the Dynamo has more to play for but not as potent a lineup as the defending champ. Prediction:
Houston 1, Columbus 1.
FC Dallas vs. Chicago (8:30 p.m., DK).
Dallas is still sorting things out
and the Fire has a potent attack that can win on the road. Prediction:
FC Dallas 0, Chicago 2.
vs. Toronto FC (8:30 p.m., DK). Dwayne DeRosario
and Amado Guevara
can take apart any team yet the Wizards are
better in the back. Prediction:
Kansas City 3, Toronto FC 1.
San Jose vs. New England (10:30 p.m., DK).
Both teams are banged up and the Revs are still sorting out their post-Michael Parkhurst defensive issues. Prediction:
San Jose 2, New
Chivas USA vs. Colorado (10:30 p.m., FSC).
The Rapids can attack on the flanks and the Chivas back line is banged up. Prediction:
Chivas USA 2, Colorado 2.
SUNDAY Los Angeles vs. D.C.
United (3 p.m., TeleFutura).
The flagship franchises of the league's first decade are both playoff longshots, and neither defense looks ready. Prediction:
Los Angeles 3, D.C. United 2.
Maybe next week the Red Bulls will show up but they certainly did their
part to make Seattle's opener unforgettable.)
