A trio of recent Champions League rivalries will be revived in the 2009 edition of the competition, as UEFA announced in the quarterfinal draw today in which Chelsea will meet Liverpool for the
fifth time in as many years (adding to the 22 times the two teams have met across all competitions in the last 5 years), while Manchester United will try to enact revenge on FC Porto after being
upset in 2004 as Portuguese club went on to win the title.
In another pairing with past history, Arsenal will meet Villarreal in a follow-up to the 2006 semifinal that the Gunners
won on their way to the final. The final match-up is the battle of the B's, with two-time CL winner and current La Liga leader Barcelona facing four-time winner but Bundesliga disappointment
The quarterfinal legs are set for April 7-8 and April 14-15, with the semis scheduled for April 28-29 and May 5-6. With four EPL teams in the last eight, the brackets
are set up for the possibility of a second straight all-English final when the Champions League champ is decided in Rome on May 27.
