Landon Donovan Back in 'Comfort Zone'

Any worries about how Landon Donovan might be affected by another disappointing loan stint in Germany upon his return to MLS were all but put to rest on Sunday, as the league's leading scorer in 2008 picked up where he left off last season by netting two goals in the last 10 minutes to help the Galaxy eke out a 2-2 draw with D.C. United.

"I don't feel a lot different," said Donovan of what he learned or gained as a player during his stint at Bayern Munich. "I'm continuing to just get sharper and more aware in every second of the game," adds Donovan, who according to the always-harsh reality of coach Bruce Arena "still needs to get better" and "is not where he needs to be right now."

But at least at this early stage, it's easy to see that what is the same for Donovan is that he gives the Galaxy confidence that it can't seem to get from anyone else, and that his own confidence comes from being "comfortable from day one," (according to Chris Klein) back in the same town, team and league where he's excelled these past four years.
