Eighth Chivas Coach Fired Since Vergara Took Over

Yet another coach is out at Chivas Guadalajara, with Efrain Flores the latest of eight to lose his job since upstart owner Jorge Vergara bought the team in 2002. His crime? Losing three consecutive games in the Mexican First Division.

Although Chivas leads Group 6 in the prestigious Copa Libertadores, Flores' 18-month run at the helm came to an abrupt end after a 1-0 decision at the hands of Tigres on Sunday that dropped the Goats to fifth place out of six teams in Group Two of the league's Clausura season.

Since new ownership took over, Mexico's most popular team has won just one of a possible 13 championships in that span, dismissing the likes of Xavier Azkargorta, Eduardo de la Torre, Jose Manuel de la Torre, Benjamin Galindo, Daniel Guzman and Hans Westerhof (twice) along the way.
