Toronto Faithful Serious About Trillium Cup

In yet another show of the best fan support within the MLS, more than 2,500 red scarf-wearing Toronto FC fans (an MLS record for away fans?) are expected to make the trip from southern Ontario to central Ohio and invade Crew Stadium for the first leg of the Trillium Cup series on Saturday.

"Everyone in our club is in a state of euphoria over the match and we are going to take Crew Stadium over this weekend. When we chant 'This is our house' at the stadium, it will be true," boasted Jack DePoe, president of the Red Patch Boys fan club, one of only four that the team boasts (the others being North End Elite, USector and Tribal Rhythm Nation).

While the Crew has won the inter-city series (named after a flower that the two states have in common) in 2007 and 2008, Toronto FC is confident that their overwhelming crowd support can lift them to their first Trillium trophy. So confident, that they're boarding buses at 4:15 am to make the 7-hour drive southward.
