UEFA Champions League headed to Fox Soccer Channel

[TELEVISION] The UEFA Champions League, a staple of midweek viewing in ESPN2 since 1994, is headed to Fox Soccer Channel, starting next season, according to an AP report.

ESPN began carrying the UEFA Champions League on ESPN2 in 1994, expanding its coverage to include games on ESPN Deportes and ESPN360.com.

Fox Soccer Channel's biggest property is currently the English Premier League and Italy's Serie A. ESPN lost out in its bid to take English rights to the EPL away from Sky, but EPL rights in the United States have not been decided.

Fox will also replace ESPN as the UEFA Champions League pay carrier in Latin America, beginning next season under a three-season deal.
