El Salvador coach leaves hospital

[HEXAGONAL] Ever wonder what the impact of a tense match like Saturday's World Cup qualifier between the USA and El Salvador has on a coach? El Salvador coach Carlos de los Cobos was hospitalized Sunday, complaining of dizziness. He was released Monday and joined the short-handed Salvadoran national team for its next qualifier against Costa Rica Wednesday at the Saprissa Stadium in San Jose.

Doctors cleared de los Cobos to fly to San Jose, where El Salvador will be without Eliseo Quintanilla, who scored El Salvador's first goal in its 2-2 with the USA, and Cristian Castillo, who was outstanding against the Americans. Both are serving suspensions for accumulation of yellow cards.

On top of that, Red Bulls defender Alfredo Pacheco, Rudis Corrales and goalie Miguel Montes are nursing injuries. Pacheco, Corrales, Montes and Marvin Gonzalez did not practice on Monday.

Costa Rica is coming off a 2-0 loss to Mexico in Mexico City -- its first loss in 12 games under Coach Rodrigo Kenton. The Ticos will welcome back midfielder general Walter Centeno, who was suspended for the Mexico game. He'll celebrate his 125th cap against El Salvador -- a national team record.

The Ticos' injury worries are minimal. Only goalie Ricardo Gonzalez and Froylan Ledezma are hurting.
