Fabregas and Brown Face FA Charges

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fábregas and Hull City manager Phil Brown have been charged with improper conduct by the English FA over their actions at the end of Arsenal's FA Cup fifth-round win over Hull on 17 March.

Fabregas, who did not play in the game, faces two charges of improper conduct. One concerns his behavior on the field after the final whistle, the second concerns Fabregas allegedly spitting at Hull's assistant manager, Brian Horton. The charges are based on video evidence submitted by Hull City.

Brown faces charges for his criticisms of referee Mike Riley. Both Fabregas and Brown have until 12 May to respond. Fabregas denied the allegations when they were initially made. And his manager, Arsene Wenger, defended the midfielder today: "I personally looked at the reports, at the video evidence. There is nothing in there against Cesc."
