Beasley Hoping to Stay in Manchester

DaMarcus Beasley tells Yanks Abroad that his PSV Eindhoven days are over-or so he hopes. The 24-year old U.S. international, on loan with Manchester City all season, said he hopes to close out that chapter of his life by signing a long-term deal with City, which has yet to offer him a contract.

"PSV is a closed book," Beasley told the Web site. "I had a great time there. I won two championships, was leading scorer for my team in the Champions League in the first season and got to the semifinal, but I think it is time to move on from there. I don't think [PSV] is really an option now."

Beasley has had an injury-hit season with City, amassing a disappointing total of 20 appearances in all competitions, although he was enjoying a run of good form recently, scoring twice in three games before hobbling off with a hamstring strain against Watford last weekend. City manager Stuart Pearce has been reserved about the 24-year old's future, saying he would decide whether to offer the player a contract at the end of the season. "I'd like to stay at Man City and continue my football here," Beasley said, adding that Man City has until May 1 to offer him a contract.
